According to local Ohio news reports, Paul Schwab II and his wife Cindy Schwab, along with three others were involved in a severe horse trailer accident on Saturday, May 22. Also in the accident was their son 14-year-old Paul Schwab III, another female passenger and an infant.
Friends of the Schwab’s said the group was one their way to a Quarter Horse show in Lancaster, Ohio, when their left front tire blew out on the front of their Ford Pick-up truck. The truck and trailer, carrying two horses veered into oncoming traffic and into the ditch slamming into a group of trees.
It has been reported that several of the family members were released from the hospital, however the 14-year-old boy remains at Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The horses are expected to fully recover after undergoing minor surgeries.
Paul Schwab III, is a Youth Director for the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and an active Youth exhibitor at AQHA shows.
